Assagao, Goa
Set against the relaxed character of Goa, this villa by Meher Sra Designs was conceived as a home that reveals itself gradually rather than conforming to a singular aesthetic. Each space responds to its own scale, light and function, while remaining connected through a consistent design sensibility. The language begins at the entrance, where a custom-designed door framed by curved moulding introduces a softness that continues through panelling, furniture, openings and artwork. Guided by the coastal context, the material palette balances character with practicality, with microconcrete, Indian stone, cane, wood and tactile finishes coming together to create a home that feels layered, warm and distinctly its own.

Rather than repeating a single visual language, every room was allowed to develop its own identity. Expressive murals, sculptural furniture, patterned floors and richly detailed surfaces sit alongside quieter moments of wood, cane and softer textiles. Every piece of furniture was custom designed and executed by Meher Sra Designs, while art and styling were considered an integral part of the architecture rather than a final decorative layer. Developed through a process of instinct, iteration and on-site refinement, the villa comes together as a collection of individually resolved spaces, connected through material, proportion and intent.
